After upgrading Acer 5515 to Windows 7, laptop freezes after hibernation

I have an Acer 5515 that I upgraded to Windows 7 Home Premium.  I've been having an issue w/ it freezing after it comes out of hibernation.  Here's what I'm going.  Work on the computer, close the lib...wait 4-? hrs and open the lid, press the power button
to resume, windows comes up and works for 30 seconds to a minute and then freezes.  I have to do a hard reset and restart windows.  I've done some research and ran sfc /scannow.  Results were Windows Resource Protection did not find any integrity violations. 
I've checked my power options.  I'm running default Balanced (recommended) mode.  I've checked the advanced settings and Allow hybrid sleep is set to Off for both.  Please help...it seems to be a big issue for a lot of people.  If you need me to test anything,
please let me know.
