After Upgrade to EI8 from EI7 - I now can't chat with Yahoo Messenger

I upgraded from ei7 to ei8 and also downloaded the new msn toolbar 3.0 - I have Yahoo messenger as I chat with a Phillipino girl - Before the change to ei8 I also had a Yahoo toolbar installed.
I deleted that yahoo toolbar and installed msn 3.0 toolbar
along with the new ei8 browser.
Now after these changes - My phillipino girlfriend can't chat with her mobile phone.
There is a Yahoo messenger update - or should I just reinstall ei7 and the Yahoo toolbar like before.
Will there be problems reinstalling ie7
after installing ei8? Can I go to the control panel - remove ei8 - then reinstall ie7 after removing ei8 - how will I be able to do this? I just want to be able to use Yahoo messenger again - got any suggestions? Please email *** Email address is removed for

Thank you for using the Microsoft Answers Forum.  You do not mention if other than the problem with Yahoo Messenger whether or not IE 8 is functioning normally. 
I would suggest contacting Yahoo for support of their Messenger product. 
If you wish to uninstall IE 8 here is a Knowledge Base article that tells you how to uninstall it:
