After upgrading to Windows 7, download speed is slower

Hi, I have upgraded from windows vista basic 32 bit to windows 7 professional 64 bit doing a clean install.
My download speed has now considerably dropped a lot now and is now downloading at around 50kbps to 100kbps.
When I use speedtest.net it says my
download speed should be 2mbps and sometimes goes to 9mbps.
For my internet browser I use google chrome, please help me

Try the following:
1.
Go to Control Panel > Power Options .
2.
Click Change plan settings next to your current power plan.
3.
Click Change advanced power settings.
4.
Double-click Wireless Adapter Settings .
5.
Double-click Power Saving Mode .
6.
Change the setting to Maximum Performance .

Also, have you tried updating the firmware on your router? I'd also recommend ensuring that your router is on the Windows 7 Compatibility list found here: Win7

Open Action Center by clicking the Start button Picture of the Start button, clicking Control Panel, and then, under System and Security, clicking Review your computer's status.
