What I would like to know is if there is a way to start up a drive from another computer that i junked? Is it a motherboard or bios problem? Is there a way to overcome this problem?

If you mean to boot Windows from the hard drive you junked when installed in a different computer.
Its possible but there are too many variables to be absolutely certain.
The wrong device drivers are one possiblitiy of failure, an OEM version of Windows
is another problem, graphic card issues and so on.
If you want to usae the drive on another computer its best to reinstall Windows.
