Best way to change a combined date/time cell format to date only

I'm embarking on a project to move data from a csv file, downloaded from my Ebay account, into MS Money, via a qif file created from the csv file by a macro. (I haven't found a more elegant solution to go from csv to mny but please post if you know of
one).
 Anyway, the 'date' field in the Ebay csv file looks like this:  Sep-03-10 14:41:39 PDT.  The date in MS Money needs to be simply 03/09/2010 (I can live without the time element)  I want dd/mm/yyyy as a) I'm British and b) that's how Money is formatted. 
What would folks suggest is the simplest way to change the format of the data in the csv file (or its xlsx counterpart) before running the macro to convert it to the qif file?  I've changed it manually in a test file and the rest of the process seems to work
well.  I've though about using the 'LEN' function to strip off the first 9 digits but I can't then get Excel to recognise the data as a date.  Thanks in advance for your suggestions.

I'm confused:  are you importing into MS Money, as you say, or into Excel?

It would be helpful if you showed us how you formulated this.  Then we could offer specific suggestions.  Generally, it might be as simple as adding a double-negative in front of the string expression.  For example:

=--LEFT(A1,9)

extracts the first 9 characters ("Sep-03-10"?) and converts the text result to a number, if Excel recognizes that data form.  (My US version of Excel does not.)

To check for Windows updates. Open Windows Update by clicking the Start button , clicking All Programs, and then clicking Windows Update.
