I followed the instructions given by Varun J.
(2/25/2010) regarding 'Disk Management' (Disk 'C' was detected there and is listed as 'Healthy') and 'Check Disk'.
Still no C: Disk in 'Disk Defragmenter'.
Please help.

I was able to repair disk 'C' by going to 'Advanced boot option'.
Disk 'C' is now displayed in 'Disk Defragmenter'.

To check for Windows updates

1. Open Windows Update by clicking the Start button Picture of the Start button, clicking All Programs, and then clicking Windows Update.
2. In the left pane, click Check for updates, and then wait while Windows looks for the latest updates for your computer.
