Greetings Techies!
Of late, I have been plagued with a plethora of problems with Windows 7 Ultimate.
First I was BSODed so many times that I was fit to be institutionaised (it said something like "KERNEL INTERNAL PAGE ERROR") .
I tried Safe Mode (with Networking too) but to no avail ("Cannot load the remote access connection manager
service/ Error 711..." and no sound).
Then succour came in the form of chkdsk c:/r/f (or is it f/r?).
By this alone, I was able to eliminate 80% of the problems and I was happy...
But boy, was I living in cloud cuckoo land?
The next jolt is Windows Update.
It won't.
Did I hear KB947821 (System Update Readiness Tool)?
Been there, done that.
NADA.
Now the love missive is: Error 800B0100 (while trying to instal update KB2763523).

Just go to C:\Windows\System32 and find and register Wups2.dll
To do that, right click on it and select 'Open With' then 'Choose Program' and find C:\Windows\System32\Regsvr32.
If you choose to 'Always use the selected program to open this kind of file' then all you will have to do is double click on any .dll to register it.
