Can't update (or uninstall) itunes 10.2

I currently have iTunes 10.2.2.12 installed on my computer.
(OS is Windows 7) 

I tried to update iTunes to the newest version - 10.4 however after downloading I receive the following error message: "The feature you are trying to use is on a network resource that is unavailable.
 Click OK to try again, or enter an alternate path to
a folder containing the installation package 'iTunes64.msi' in the box below."

The path in the box is 'C:\Users\Missy\AppData\Local\Apple\Apple Software Update\'

When I search the computer for iTunes64.msi I find it in the path 'C:\ProgramData\Apple Computer\Installer Cache\iTunes 10.2.2.12'

When I point the installer there I get the following error (which doesn't make much sense):  "The path 'C:\ProgramData\Apple Computer\Installer Cache\iTunes
10.2.1.1\iTunes64.msi' cannot be found.
Verify that you have access to this location and try again, or try to find the installation package 'iTunes64.msi' in a folder from which you can install the product iTunes" 

I searched the interwebs for a solution and found that back in 2008 this error seemed to be quite common and the solution was a Microsoft program called "MS Installer Cleanup Utility" which is no longer available.
 I did find a download - but it was not
able to be used on Windows 7.
 

I then tried uninstalling iTunes all together, to no avail.
 I get the same error. "The feature you are trying to use is on a network resource that is unavailable.
 Click OK to try again, or enter an alternate path to a folder containing the installation
package 'iTunes64.msi' in the box below."

Frustrating!!! PLEASE help :)

Also FWIW, iTunes 10.2 runs fine, it just doesn't want to update!
