When installing Adobe Acrobat 10.0.1 the error message "The upgrade patch cannot be installed by the Windows Installer service because the program to be upgraded may be missing, or the upgrade patch may update a different version of the program to be upgraded
or missing, or the update patch may update a different version of the program.
Verify that the program to be upgraded exists on your computer and that you have the correct upgrade patch." pops up.
After several uninstalls and restatrts it still will not work.

I ended up having to uninstall ALL Adobe programs and then reinstall and everything seems to be working correctly.

Boot in Safe Mode:

• Open Run command as previously described
• Type MSConfig
• Click on Boot tab
• Tick Safe boot in Boot option
• Select Network
• Click Apply and OK
• Reboot your system

Your system will boot in Safe mode with Networking. You may now try and open Windows Store and should not see any errors.
